Clare had an affinity with paintings from an early age, winning a pencil at age 6 in a school competition, and continuing with art through high school, the Chelsea School of Art in London. Settling in Ontario, Canada in 1985 with her Canadian husband and two children she took workshops whenever possible during a career in international development. Clare made working visits to over 40 countries which exposed her to many cultures which have enriched her painting.
